I just prayed for you, and so enjoyed reading this. I was terrified to pursue publishing too, but my fourth book releases tomorrow and the ratio of fear to excited awe just gets better and better. I also write mostly middle-grade fiction, though sadly without dragons. It is a precious privilege to write for kids that age and to participate in God's work using stories to point to Himself. I hope you enjoy writing the particular story you're working on and the closeness with God as you dream it up and put it down on paper, leaning on Him all the way.
Ahhh! That’s amazing! I’m so excited for you! I’m glad you pushed past your fear and are now writing all these amazing stories. Even without dragons I’m sure your stories are just wonderful! I must look up your books! I have siblings who are middle graders and we are always looking for new good books!
Thank you for that reminder! I always think how I’m never alone in writing because I have God with me to lean on! He is my writing partner—the only reason why I am able to write in the first place.
Congratulations on your fourth book! I’m cheering you on!!!
I’m always glad to pray - and just prayed for you again reading your latest post. So fun to have siblings who are middle grade readers, I bet they love hearing about your stories! Thanks for much for cheering me on too, it’s mutual. Grateful we get to partner with God as we write and that he has created so many writers devoted to pointing to him who get to cheer each other on. ❤️
I am so happy to read your introduction and story. You sound like me when I was so young. Now I am about to report to our King what I have done, to support His Kingdom and I reflect back and see all the time I wasted not doing out of fear. Fear is the enemy of the time allowed for us to fill in the squares that He gives us before time runs out. “Time waits for no man.” A quote I remember from my childhood teacher. He gave me a notebook and three sharpened #2 pencils and said; “I want you to write this as a forward for your book, turn the page and keep writing until you’re done.” This what I wrote down on that page in the fourth grade; “This new day is given us uncluttered fresh and clean. Yesterday’s troubles are in the past, and tomorrow’s may never be seen.” You can do it! I am placing you in my Mass intentions. Serve God as He made you uniquely for a particular part in His Grand Plan and be ready to report on all the good work you accomplished for Him!
Thank you so much for sharing your story and writing! It sounds like you had a wonderful fourth grade teacher.
I love what you wrote! What a wonderful reminder! “Yesterdays troubles are in the past, and tomorrow’s may never be seen.” It reminds me of when Jesus says to not be anxious about tomorrow because tomorrow will worry for itself. I need to be better at this. To be better at being present and trusting in God more.
Thank you so much for your prayers and encouragement! You have no idea how much this means to me! I pray I will be faithful to do what God has called me to and be ready to report to our King.
Fear paralyzes! It keeps us from growing, moving forward and doing what we need to do. Psalm 46 is a powerful prayer for one who is having a hard time dealing with fear. On October 22nd, I posted an article called "Fear Paralyzes." perhaps there is something there that can help you fight against it. Thank you for your inspiring posts. I enjoy reading them. Many blessings as you continue to Share the Good News through your writing!
Thank you for sharing that Psalm with me! I will be reading your post. Fear really does paralyze you. So many days and years I’ve been held hostage by fear. This is something I’m really wanting to be intentional in fighting against.
Thank you so much for reading my posts! I’m so glad they can be inspiring!
Thank you! Truly your words mean so much to me! God really is stretching and growing me and if that can help inspire someone else then that would be so amazing. Thank you again for your encouragement!
This is beautiful, Moriyah. Thank you for sharing. ❤
Thank you, Ruth! 💛

I've been thinking about this exact same idea for a while now. Very inspiring to hear it from someone else with such a conviction.
Thank you! It’s nice to know we aren’t alone and can have similar convictions!
Your courage to write despite fear is inspiring. Trusting God with your story will not only grow you, but could touch so many others.

You're most welcome. ❤️
